Adjacent is the British Golf Museum while the town of St. Andrews, which represents a veritable treasure trove of one thousand years of Scottish heritage, is just a short walk away. The hotel occupies two former fashionable townhouses, which date back to 1880, giving guests a palpable sense of history and tradition. Each of the Scores Hotel’s 30 bedrooms is en-suite and offers a full range of modern facilities. Many guestrooms have panoramic sea views, while others command views over the hotel gardens. A choice of bars includes the aptly named Scorecard Bar, which is adorned with golfing memorabilia including a collection of cards from championships played over the Old Course by some of the game’s legends.

DAY 2 - Mon 23 Jun 2014 : Play Carnoustie Golf Links G.C : Held the dramatic "99 British Open" won in a play off by Paul Lawrie after Jean Van De Veld madfe a mess of the 18th. Walter Hagen described this course as the best course in Britain. Watch out for the Barry Burn - Jean didn't - sand, rough and out of bounds. 18 holes, 6941 yards, par 72.

Sightseeing suggestion. The Famous Grouse Experience - The Experience Tour

See first-hand how we make our Glenturret single malt before learning how we marry our whiskies to make Scotland's favourite whisky- The Famous Grouse. Then take to the skies in our brand new interactive show and help The Famous Grouse play his iconic theme tune. Includes 2 tastes.

DAY 3 - Tue 24 Jun 2014 : Play St Andrews Jubilee G.C : Opened in 1897, this course was named to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The third championship course at the Home of Golf, the Jubilee is considered by many to be the most challenging course on the famous Links. It was originally intended for use by ladies and beginners however after seeing its prime golfing location between the New Course and the sea, the Jubilee was converted to a championship layout in 1988. 6742 yards, par 72 .

Sightseeing suggestion. St Andrews Town Tour - Blackfriars Chapel. The sight of a ruined 16th century building in the middle of St Andrews’ South Street is slightly surreal. It is the remains of Blackfriars Chapel, part of a monastery operated by Dominican friars. One of the first buildings to be ruined during the Scottish Reformation.

St Andrews Castle has been by turns a fortress, palace and prison. It is largely ruined, battered from 400 years of wars and sieges, but remains a fascinating visit on any trip to St Andrews. Children will love the visitor’s centre, with its beautifully illustrated history of those who lived – and died – in the castle. St Andrews Castle’s infamous “bottle dungeon” and the underground mine and countermine are well-preserved evidence of the castle’s medieval past, but they may not be suitable for the faint-hearted!

St Andrews Cathedral. The remains of St Andrews Cathedral are impressive enough, but they can only hint at the vast grandeur of what was once the largest cathedral in Scotland. A ticket to the cathedral’s museum offers the chance to view a collection of medieval sculptures from the site and also includes entry to St Rule’s Tower. A climb to the top of this prominent structure rewards visitors with magnificent vistas of St Andrews and the surrounding Fife countryside.

The University of Andrews is Scotland's first university and the third oldest in the English-speaking world, founded in 1413.

DAY 4 - Wed 25 Jun 2014 : Play St Andrews Old G.C : 11.40a.m The most famous golf course in the world will undoubtedly be the highlight of your trip, with a unique tradition more than six centuries old. A caddy is recommended if this is your first game on the Old Course. 18 holes, 6721 yards, par 72.

Sightseeing suggestion. The British Golf Museum - The British Golf Museum traces the history of golf, in both Britain and abroad, from the middle ages to the present day. Fittingly set next to the R & A Club House, the museum looks at all aspects of the game, from the evolution of its laws and the earliest players right through to the players of today. Informative text panels combined with an unsurpassed collection of memorabilia tell the story of golf in a fascinating and stimulating way. Encounter many famous professionals and amateurs. Touch screens allow you to look deeper into the lives of Champions and the history of championships, as well as allowing you to test your knowledge of the game. New galleries exploring St Andrews' golfing heritage were added for the Open in 2000. These include new displays exhibiting the growth of the St Andrews' club makers. Their impact on the town and in the rise of golf's popularity is also explored. Other highlights include Dictionary Corner and the Edwardian Art Gallery.

DAY 5 - Thu 26 Jun 2014 : Play Kingsbarns Golf Links G.C : Sir Michael Bonallack then Captain of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club was quoted "Kingsbarns might well be one of the last true links sites capable of development in Scotland. Mere words cannot convey just how extraordinary the place is. It must be seen to be believed, and once seen never forgotten".
